Thursday Thoughts on my Fitbit

Y'all. I joined the Fitbit club yesterday. Sorry I'm like 5 years late on this one.  But, we are doing some sort fitness challenge soon - they haven't announced the details yet - and it included a free Fitbit for the first 40 people to sign up! We could get the Fitbit One for free OR we could pay the difference to get a different one. I decided on the Fitbit Alta (affiliate link).

I liked that this one has the screen the smaller screen than the HR that Christian has but I can still see my daily stats, the time and my phone notifications. I was really wanting an athletic watch of some sort of Girls on the Run practice, so this came at the perfect time!

Of course, as soon as the Fitbit was delivered, I dowloaded the app and got to work tracking my stats. Since I hadn't been wearing it all day, my steps count for yesterday was definitely low, but I was able to add in the midday walk and Girls on the Run practice before actually using it to track my run and workout when I got home!

The last thing that I'm really loving is that I can track my meals, water and sleep, too! My friend Sarah and I are on a mini weight loss journey together and we've been pushing each other to try new workouts and recipes. She has a Fitbit so we can be friends on the app and continue to push each other even when we can't make it to the same workout in a week!
As you can tell, my Thursday Thoughts for today are "go buy a Fitbit". I've always thought they were pointless and not necessary but with the app and the great resources on the Fitbit blog, I'm newly and wholeheartedly SOLD on the power of the Fitbit. Check back with me in a month to see if I'm still using it ;)

Unrelated, is everyone else having Spring where they live, too? Literally, trees are in bloom, our grass is coming back to life and the weeds are running amuck in the yard. It's weird.

Happy Thursday, guys! One more day!

I've been on the fence about FitBit for a long time. My boyfriend has one and I wore it for a few weeks last summer to see if I liked it, and I do but honestly, the step count just wasn't enough for me. I'm active; the number of steps I get in a day isn't the motivation for me to workout. BUT, I do like all the other bells and whistles and honestly I might just want a watch that gives phone notifications, haha. I should take a look at all the other options FitBit has now; it really looks like they've come a long way from just the simple step counters they first came out with!

I want a FitBit but I'm afraid I'll get too carried away with tracking my steps! I use my phone right now for that but it's only ever accurate if I have something on that has pockets... first world problems :) Hope you have a great weekend!

I love that FitGear offers Fitbit Versa 3 straps with different closure mechanisms, such as buckles or clasps. It adds a secure and adjustable fit to my watch.
