80 degrees in February

Do you ever have one of those weekends that is just good? You're not even sure why but it was? That was this weekend. Also, I could use a nap to recharge from weekend because this week is about to be insane. I haven't done a weekend recap in awhile so why not today to see if I can start some blogging momentum for the week!

Friday

I'm literally sitting here trying to figure out what we did Friday.... Um. Hm. Oh yeah. I made a new recipe (oh hello, February goals) that I hadn't gotten around to all weekend and we snuggled up on the couch catching up on our TV shows and life this week. I mentioned Christian was out of town for two days so I felt like I missed so much!
Saturday

Whew. I'm tired just thinking about Saturday right now. I was up at 6:30 Saturday morning so I could be across town at Girls on the Run training by 8. Once I got there, I realized the church who hosted us is actually one of my favorite churches in Charlotte and I've always wanted to go in!

Training was so much fun (and being a trainer myself, I was totally nerding out over the way they set it up and seeing elements I use in my classes!) and I met some great women at my table and had some really deep, meaningful conversations that mayyyy have sparked some blog post ideas.
After training, I met some of my coaching team at Hex coffee in South End. I hadn't had Hex yet, and it was amazing. I wish it was closer to me!

Christian's best friend was in town this weekend so I ran to meet them for a drink before stopping at the house to freshen up. We let Ellie out and then headed to Travis' little brother's rugby game. Ever since I started dating Christian, Travis' family has treated me like one of their own and they're seriously the sweetest so I love spending time with them.

We didn't stay for all 3 rugby games, thankfully (there's only so much rugby I can watch LOL), because we headed out to an escape room. I hadn't done one before, but this one was definitely a challenge. It was also Mexico themed and by the end, Travis' wife and I were just sitting on the floor asking for queso.

So, of course, for dinner we went to out for Mexican and had such a fun time catching up after months apart. The plan was to go out, but by the end of dinner, I was literally falling asleep in my queso so I went home and straight to bed!

Sunday

Travis and Amber had to head back to DC pretty early in the day, so we met for brunch first and started planning our trip for April to see the cherry blossoms. After brunch, Christian helped me buy my first pair of "big girl" running shoes. AKA, shoes that aren't from Kohl's and I'm already so obsessed with them. Having good running shoes (I got Brooks) I can tell is going to be such a game changer while I'm training for this 5k!
I wanted to break in my shoes, so we headed to the park with Ellie so we could take a long walk and let her play at the dog park. This picture is from the one little section that wasn't filled with people. She was loving getting to sprint ahead of us and wait on us to catch up. She was exhausted when we got home!

I wish we had a nearby dog park :(
DC in the spring will be beautiful! I'd like to visit at that time someday!
I love when weekends or days are just GOOD. Like, nothing too eventful, but you walk away feeling super happy and refreshed (and tired)!

That chicken looks delicious! I know...this weather is blowing my mind, but I don't mind it at all! I was laughing yesterday because a picture of the snow in Boone came up on my TimeHop. Hope you have a great week!

I'm jealous that it is so warm where you live! It's been so dreadfully cold and rainy here!
