A New, Glorious Month

November 2 seems like a good time for an October goals update and to possibly set some November goals, right? Okay, good. I'm also linking up with Kristen for the What's New With You Linkup!

one // Be active for at least 30 minutes per day.

I got so close on this one! There were 6 days that I didn't hit it according to my Fitbit. Although I "failed", I really paid a lot more attention to my activity so I think it's a success overall.

two // Try a new workout class.

I really don't think I did this. The sad part is, I already can't remember most of October. Both work and home were so crazy that I was just lost. I do know that I spent a lot of time in the gym, though, and tried some new exercises so does that count?

three // Try five new recipes.

I know that I did this one! I can't remember where they were all from, but I cooked Greek steak tips with homemade tzaziki sauce, turkey chili from Fit Foodie Finds, cheese stuffed ravioli, and I know I made a few more that I can't remember right now. #bloggerfail  But, I did discover Aldi and LIDL and I'm definitely excited about those and will be telling you more about them in a future post!

four // Eat at a new restaurant for our anniversary.

We had a delicious dinner at The Cellar at Duckworth's in Uptown Charlotte and will definitely be going back sometime. I was very impressed that such a nice place was in the basement of a sports bar.

five //  Pick pumpkins and get mums for the porch.

Whoo, another success! We went with our friends and their baby for Baby's first pumpkin patch and she LOVED it. We had a lot of fun watching her take it all in and taking her on her first hayride.

six // Hit up a corn maze.

Sadly, we didn't make it to the corn maze at the pumpkin patch this year. It's been so hot this October that I really haven't even wanted to be outside, let alone baking in the sun trying to find my way out of maze.

Now, onward to November. I don't have as many goals this month because I just want to enjoy it, but here's a few!

one // Complete 90% of my Christmas shopping by December 1st.

As you can read about in yesterday's post, I'm a planner and I've already got a list going and I'm tracking sales on those items right now so I don't see this as being an issue. I'll also be doing a lot of this from right here on Black Friday/Cyber Monday:

two // Complete a big work project by 11/27.

I don't typically talk about work on the blog but we're rolling out a huge new system on January 1st and I'm drowning the training materials and schedule and I've set a personal due date of 11/27 so we're ready to train on 12/6. Send me all the good vibes and caffeine.

three // Volunteer/give back to the community.

I'm kind of cheating by putting this up here because I already have a few things scheduled AND I'm on the Stewardship committee at work, but I want to hold myself accountable during this busy season.

Do you have any goals for this month?

i straight up don't understand active minutes on my fitbit somedays. but go you for making an effort and being more aware, that's what really matters! I love Aldi but don't think we have LIDL.

congrats on working on your christmas list, i am normally on top of it but haven't been the last year or this year. plenty of time, but still. i'll probably get stuff on black friday/cyber monday too.

I love Aldi! I was so excited when a LIDL opened somewhat near us. I drove the like 35 minutes to go check it out and ... idk. I wasn't terribly impressed. I'll stick to the Aldi's up the street. I thought I'd go to Lidl once a month or so and stock up, but they didn't have a bunch of my staple items. I found it strange that I could find things at Aldi's that I couldn't at Lidl, when Lidl is much larger. Also, I don't remember the majority of October either ;)

I made that one of my goals too, to try more local restaurants! There's so many and we always go to the same ones when we dine out. I didn't make it to any corn mazes or pumpkin patches this year. I'm just ready to skip ahead to Thanksgiving and Christmas lol.

I love Aldi! Such a fan.

I'm going to get cracking on my Christmas shopping today. What with living the other side of the world to my family I need to get it done asap!
