Thoughts for Thursday: Thankfulness.

It feels weird just getting back to normal life after such a crazy Tuesday/Wednesday. I had some fun posts for this week but I think I'm going to wait. But, I also don't want to write about the election because it's heavy and enough people have written some great posts: Helene , Amanda, Maggie and Derek and Alyssa.

So today, I'm going to talk about what I'm thankful for.

one // This man. I'm thankful this man loves me for exactly who am - flaws and all. He knows that I get a little mean when I'm hungry but doesn't hold it against me. He knows that I HATE to clean the kitchen and vacuum so he does it most of the time so I don't have to. He just laughs and we get take out when I accidentally burn or undercook dinner because I was rushing to get it done after a long day of work and fitting in a workout. He supports my career goals and always pushes me to do more. He knows not to touch my mint chocolate chip ice cream unless it's specifically offered to him.
He knows the real, honest, completely flawed me and loves me every second in spite of that.

two // These two hooligans. Zuko and Ellie keep us entertained every day. They both have such distinct, sassy and ridiculous attitudes that absolutely kill me. I'm so thankful that we have such well behaved (well.. most of the time) animals that love us even when we accidentally forget to feed them occasionally. I'll be even more thankful for them when they one day become friends. We'll get there.

three // My job. How many people truly love their job? And how many people truly love their coworkers? It seems to be pretty few in my experience and I definitely used to be one of those people who dreaded work.

I still hate waking up early and Monday's - but once I get to go work, I'm so happy to be. My team is amazing and so supportive of each other and both of my bosses are incredible. Plus, I work for the most well known brand in the world. It doesn't get much better.

four // Friends. I have some amazing, loving friends that I can call at any hour of the day. Though my two best friends live far away, that doesn't change our friendship at all and I'm so thankful for that.
This one lives in Chicago.
This one lives in Charlottesville.
This year I've made some awesome new friends, too, and I don't know what I'd do without them. Friendships as an adult are hard but this year I've really learned it's the quality of friendships, not the number that matter.

five // My family. Although this election cycle has been rough on us, they are still my parents and family and we all love each other regardless. We are celebrating Thanksgiving next Saturday because all of my mom's siblings will be in town (from Hawaii, Asheville, Wilmington and Georgia) for the first time in awhile and we wanted to spend the holiday together. I'm thankful we all love each other enough to something like that just to be together.
My mom's parents, siblings, children and all the significant others in one picture!
So, let's take some time this week to reflect on what we're thankful for and continue to shine happiness out into the world. Lord knows, we all need it.

Awwww, those kitty and puppy pictures are adorable :) This week I've tried to take the time to remember to be thankful and find joy in any moment I can.

Such a positive post for this week!! :) That's awesome that you love your job so much! And your husband is a keeper with the vacuuming!! I HATE emptying the dishwasher so my husband does that most of the time, and it means so much to me!

OMG your pets are adorable. And I love that your husband doesn't touch your sweets without permission - will he teach mine? Is there anything worse than thinking you have something in the pantry and it being gone? NOPE.
