A Day in the Life.

Hello, everyone. I'm Zuko. Here's my awesome face.

Hey, how's it goin'?
Mom says that lots of these blog people let their animals write posts sometimes, but she said I couldn't because I have a tendency to be an asshole... (and I don't have thumbs. But whatever.) I don't really get that because I just like to be really loud so she's aware that my food bowl isn't 100% full, I need an ice cube and that I pooped. I don't think that makes me an asshole since it's her job anyway. Maybe if she'd keep up with these things, I wouldn't have to run around meowing while she sleeps.

So I decided to say hi while she's at work AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT FOR A MINUTE. When I first adopted her, she was in and out all day long and always played with me. I even had a second friend who was there to babysit. Mom said she was her roommate but I'm convinced she was just there for me to snuggle with and sometimes scratch. NOW, Mom is gone for, like, 27 hours a day. I'm probably just gonna find a new human to adopt that doesn't have a stupid job.

I've found a lot of ways to entertain myself while she's gone though. But I have more fun when she and that other guy that's always popping in and out of here, are here to play with me.

Here's how my day typically goes:

6:30-7am. Harass Mom. I have many ways I've discovered including sitting in the shower and meowing loudly, banging on the blinds beside her bed, sitting on her face, biting her toes, scratching at the underside of her bed, knocking things off tables, and lots of other cool stuff, too. Once she's out of bed, she feeds me like she's supposed to.

Taking a break from sprinting around.
7am. Mom tries to sleep a little longer. NOT WITHOUT ME. This is when I allow her to pet me. I especially like having my chin scratched.

7:45am. Mom gets up and starts getting ready. She always does this weird thing where she gets in my big bed, turns WATER on and then gets UNDER THE WATER. She seriously stands in water for 10 minutes. I always sit and watch to make sure she's okay in there. It really doesn't seem like a smart idea. Water is evil. After that, she uses this loud contraption on her head and I hate it. I usually sprint into another room and hide until she's done.

My box.
8:20am. Mom abandons me. It's awful. I follow her around and give her pitiful looks. Then, when she tries to scratch my ears before she leaves, I run away. That'll teach her. Ha.

8:20am - 6:30pm. I am abandoned. I spend my days laying in all the sunny windows, eating all my food, stealing and hiding mom's hair thingies, and doing lots of secret things that I don't tell mom about. Like trying to scratch her couch.

So. Much. Stuff. To. Watch.
7:30pm. Mom gets home and MAN it is awesome. I like to run in circles and meow to let her know how awful it was being alone in sunny windows all day. If she doesn't sit down immediately and let me let her scratch my ears, I run faster and meow louder until she cooperates. After a nice snuggle sesh I eat dinner.

8p-10pm. I go back and forth between making mom pet me and sitting in my favorite windows. My days are just really busy and tiring so I try to sleep as much as I can. I also like to walk all over mom's laptop when she's blogging. I always try to leave messages in her posts. I also enjoy sitting on her books. I'm a great reader.

Reading Gone Girl.
10pm. MOM'S BEDTIME. Also known as sit on mom's chest while she pets me for at least 15 minutes. Sometimes, she tells me she can't breathe and I'm on her esophagus but as long as I'm getting my ears scratched why would I care? After pets, I cuddle up on her pillow and sleep. Usually in the middle of the night, I like to lay by her feet and push her to the other side of the bed.

This is my side and no one else can have it.
So obviously, today we learned that I am awesome, I love cuddling when I want to cuddle and mom is an awesome ear scratcher/chair/bed/food provider.

Hope your cats are as awesome as me :)

Awww! You're adorable Zuko, you can come lounge with Hawkeye any time you want. She sits in the window all day too and hides from hair dryers.

Ohh heyy, we have the same sheets! lol. What a cutie, though it sounds like he has a pretty rough life. How could you even think of sleeping when his bowl isn't full to the tippy-top?! Hehe :) & I love his splotchy nose!

Zuko I am in love. (I kind of have a thing for black and white kitties... I have three) You are so adorable... and from this post it sounds like you may have been separated at birth from my two cats... same personalities!

This was a fabulous read to stumble upon. We have 3 rescue cats, and I could see many traits of Zuko's that remind me of mine. Such a fun post!
