Boonetown.

If you don't know, I attend Appalachian State University in Boone (well technically, I finished up yesterday). I love this little town so much. As I sit here trying to write something about how I feel about this place, I can't. I don't know if words could ever do my feelings justice. Here are some of the reasons I love this place:

Weirdly enough, I'm going to miss the snow. I have amazing memories associated with the snow and I love a good snow day spent watching movies, pigging out and cuddling.

On top of all the gorgeous in this town, I owe it a lot. Mainly for all the wonderful people I met here. And of course, Christian. Had I not come to visit one day in April 2010, I never would have come here or met him. 

Now to end this post, here are a few things I won't miss about this town. 

The Appalcart. This is our bus system and it's free. Free is great but ohmygod  the drivers are awful. Almost every day I'm pretty sure my life is ending and it flashes before my eyes.

The inconsistent weather.  In January, we had floods, record breaking winds, spring weather and a blizzard in the span of 4 day. FOUR DAYS.  It's the hardest thing to prepare for. I love snow in the winter (October - February/March here) but that's it. 

Living situations. Boone is small and on top of a mountain. Therefore, there isn't a lot of space for new apartments. This leads to very high priced apartments for not-so-nice places. My apartments haven't been the worst ever but they've definitely been over-priced. I'm ready for Charlotte and some nice apartments, already!

Potholes.  This may seem weird, but they are everywhere. It killssss the alignment on my car. 

Roadwork. We joke in Boone that there are four seasons: "almost winter", "winter", "still winter" and "roadwork". The second the snow stops, the roadwork begins. It makes driving anytime between 10:30am and 2pm and again 4pm til 6pm the most frustrating thing in the world. 

Sorry if this was boring, but this town is so special and unique that I had to give it a post of its own. Now I'm off to pack and clean all day in between episodes of Scandal because I. AM. DONE!
