22 years of wisdom.

Let's be honest, 22 really isn't as old as I keep feeling like it is. But I do feel like I've learned a few things in the last 22 years. So, I thought I would share some of these things!

{one} I already wrote a post about this back in February, but I feel pretty strongly about this: you have to love yourself exactly how you are. There's nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself by changing bad habits or wanting to lose weight to be healthier, but you have to love who you are. For my full thoughts on this, check out my older post!

{two} Life is hard. Seriously, there are days when I just wonder if it can possibly get any worse. And sometimes it does. But, this doesn't mean that life isn't worth living or there aren't beautiful things that make everything better. Those rough patches teach you who you are, who your friends are and what's most important to you. During my roughest times, my true friends really showed themselves and proved why they are so amazing while others that I thought were there for me no matter what fell off the face of the Earth.

These girls never left my side.

{three} You won't die alone. You won't be a crazy cat lady. Well, unless you want to be. I spent most of high school crushing on every guy ever. Okay, slight exaggeration, but there were quite a few. For some reason, none of these ever worked out. I had poor little 17 year old Leslie convinced that she was ugly and no boys would ever like her. Then there was a jerk freshman year of college. Then I met Christian. He rocks. He loves me exactly how I am and for all my quirks, flaws and weirdness. There is someone out there who will love you just as you are, but you have to love yourself too (andddd back to number one).

He's pretty cute so if it ends up just us, that's okay too ;)

{four} Live in the moment. I am the WORST about having constant countdowns going on. For instance, right now I have 5 in my phone. This is something I'm really working on. Spend days just basking in how awesome your life is. Yes, bad things may be going on, but you've always got someone or something that rocks in your life. Find it.

My something/someone that rocks 24/7.
{five} Having one amazing best friend beats having 100 acquaintances. I'm lucky to have been blessed with a few best friends that are always there for me no matter what, whenever I need them. I spend more time with these girls than anyone else. I would much rather spend my nights drinking on the couch with them than out at the bars saying "ohmygod heyyyy I miss you let's hang out!!"  to every other person I see. Not that I don't enjoy going out, I just want to do it with my close friends.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Love this! Especially your last point. Looking back on college, I realized that maybe I didn't make a million new friends but I made a million new memories with my best friends!
