Wedding Weekend Shenanigans!

I'm linking up with Sami, of course, to share the wedding festivities from this weekend! What. A. Weekend.

Thursday

Dealt with these shenanigans to come down the mountain with my friend Julie (also one of the groomsmen's girlfriend!). Christian's family made dinner, so we ate, cuddled and watched some TV that night. I knew I needed rest!

Yes, April 4th. 3pm.
Friday

My friend and Christian's best friend since 8th grade and college roommate graduated from the Charlotte Police Academy! It was awesome to see something he's always wanted to finally happen! We went to graduation and then had Bad Daddy's for lunch. I had been wanting to try it for awhile and it was delicciousssss. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fried egg. Delish.

Too cute.

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner. It was so much fun and the poor wedding planner had no idea what to do with the bridesmaids. Each of us has a giant personality and when you put us together they just multiply! We really didn't even rehearse and instead started a chant asking Sam to put her dog in the wedding. We won.

Alyssa!

Normal..

He hates pictures.
There was also a hysterical moment when my friend Kristin fell while "walking down the aisle". The grass was super wet and we were all in stilettos. I tripped once, but she straight up fell. She never technically hit the ground and she saved her beer (yes, we carried our beers for "flowers" #classy), but she was legitimately falling for over 30 seconds. It. was. awesome.

Really hates them.
Saturday

Saturday was the day! We convened at 10a for breakfast and to start getting our hair done. There was so much hairspray in that room, I don't know how anyone of us were able to breathe! We had so much fun hanging out, drinking mimosas and helping Sam prep for her big day! Around 3p, we started putting on dresses and making sure everything was perfect.

Matching monogrammed shirts!

Sam made her grand entrance for her dad, brothers and the bridesmaids around 3:40p and every single one of us cried when her dad saw her. He was diagnosed with ALS in June 2011 and being able to watch him be with her on her day was phenomenal. I really can't even explain the joy we all felt watching them together.

Bawling.
Once we arrived at the country club, the bridesmaids shared a toast and got ready to walk down the aisle. I was so amazed that Sam didn't get nervous even once! That's when you know they're perfect for each other.

Beautiful bride!!

When she walked down the aisle, I watched her fiance's face and immediately started crying. Thankfully, the bridesmaids all had tissues because I cried through the whole thing. Whoops? I cried even more every time I looked at her mom and dad.

We had a blast taking pictures and her uncle brought us a few snacks to tie us over until dinner. He mayyyyy have been may favorite person at the whole wedding just because of that. Once we made our grand entrances, it was straight to the buffet. Her family made all the food and it was to DIE for. I was one happy girl after that meal.

The toasts were done by his brother and sister and they were too cute. Sam's sister had us hysterically laughing and then crying in about 30 seconds. They're first dance was to "Not With Haste" by Mumford & Sons. It was beautiful. Go listen now. Sam's father-daughter dance was up next and I don't think there was a single person not crying in that room. We all lost it and it was the most beautiful dance I've ever seen.

Can I have an entire box of tissues please?
After that, the shots came out and we had an amazing evening dancing. I think I dance for over 2 hours straight. It was a blast. There was a little two year old that stole all of our hearts with his adorable face, awesome dance moves and fear of speaking to any of us. He would only dance with us! Although, at the end of the night, he came up and asked Kristin to dance. I almost cried again because it was so cute!

End of the night.

He wasn't sure where to look...

I am so happy for these two and the wonderful life they share!

Sunday

Sunday was for lazy mornings at the hotel with Christian helping me undo my hair before he took me out for some delicious pizza. We got back to his house and laid down to nap on the couch. I decided that was lame and got up and went to the room I sleep in to pass out for a couple hours! After some laziness, I met up with my friend and we headed back to Boone.

Up do aftermath.
The ride was pretty uneventful except for a little empty gas tank scare. The gas station appeared right as my tank went below empty. We were quite lucky on that one! I spent the rest of the night chatting with the roommate and catching up on blogs.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, too!

It sounds like that wedding was an absolute blast! I love those monogrammed shirts y'all wore, and I love even more that you used your beer for the flowers at the rehearsal dinner. That's my kind of rehearsal! ;) Her dress was stunning, and I loved the color of y'all's bridesmaid dresses too! Happy Monday girl!!

I feel your bobby pin pain, I was once told to wash them out because I had more than that many in and they thought it would break my hair if I pulled them all out. You looked fab though, and so did the bride!
