Happy Fall, blogland! Oh and hello again. At least it's only been about a month since I last showed my face on this ole blog? But this time when I say I'm back I mean it.
I had every intention to post this on the official first day of Fall but Charlotte has been in a state of unrest since last Tuesday. I'm heartbroken by everything that has happened in my city. I fully support anyone's right to protest, but the violence was heartbreaking and uncalled for - especially when another life was lost as a result. The news definitely played up the violence and rioting on the first two nights but thankfully since Thursday, everything has been peaceful. I've always thought of Charlotte as a welcoming and opening city, but this week has definitely showed us that every city in this country has room to improve and grow. I hope Charlotte learns, grows and pushes forward to better the city together.
I've been to two blog classes with Megan of Freckled Italian via Skill Pop (if you're local to Charlotte or Raleigh, check them out!) and I'm really feeling a renewed energy for the blog. I've started a content calendar and everything. I'm using Evernote to plan out post ideas, too. Maybe if I stick to this, I'll write about this later on! But, this means I've already got posts written and ready to go live for at least the next two weeks and ideas for even later!
So now onto why I'm here today: FALL IS HERE.
Everyone in blogland says fall is their favorite, but at Christmas, that's going to be the favorite. And come spring, everyone's favorite will be spring, and on and on for every season. BUT Fall has always been my favorite. I dislike Summer quite a bit (ask anyone in my office). So I'm READY for this season to kick off.
Today, I just wanted to share a few of my favorite things about the most amazing season in the world (well, Winter is basically tied).
ONE / Leaves.
There's nothing more beautiful than changing leaves, I'm sure of it.
You also cannot beat the mountains in the Fall. I mean look at this:

TWO / The candles.
Seriously, does anything beat a Bath and Body Works fall candle? My absolute favorite is Pumpkin Apple but you can't go wrong with any of their scents. Runner up: Leaves and Sweater Weather.
THREE / Apple everything.
Cider, pie, candles, orchards - all great. You won't hear me rambling about Pumpkin Spice because ew. I will occasionally eat a slice of pumpkin pie and some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, but that's about it. Apples are where it's at.

FOUR
The clothes. Booties, flannel, cardigans, scarves and sweaters. If you were to walk into my closet right now, you would see an entire section of the closet dedicated solely to cardigans and scarves on the left. In the middle, you'd see a few tanks and short sleeves and then an abundance of sweaters, tunics and long sleeve shirts. On the right, you'd see quite the array of dresses - most of which are long sleeves or I bought specifically for certain cardigans. I love Fall clothes.
FIVE / Firepits.
Charlotte is hot. It typically stayed in the 90s even when the sun went down this summer. No one wants to stand beside a fire in those conditions. Granted, we got a great deal on our new firepit because of this but I'm so ready to finally put it to use soon! S'mores are calling my name!
What are your favorite things about Fall? Are you just as excited as I am?
