You're always a kid on Christmas {Link up}

It's almost here. We are FIFTEEN DAYS AWAY. I can't even believe it. I'm so so ready and sooo not prepared when it come to having presents... Oops.

Anyways, growing up Christmas was always my favorite until my grandmother passed away. Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday and put so much into it every year. After that, I was kind of a Scrooge at the end of high school and through college. Now, I've realized that celebrating Christmas all out is a nice way to remember her and this year I'm back in full force!

That's why when I saw Helene and Taylor's link up, I had to join in because I know I'm going to be worse than ever this year!

- Once the tree is up, the lights have to be turned on the second it gets dark or the second we get home if it's already dark. Christian apparently doesn't feel the same way because if I come home after him and it's dark - he never has it on!

- I could watch Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause (1-3), Santa Clause is Coming to Town, Frosty, etc. a million times every season and never be tired of it. Thank you ABC Family for providing me countless opportunities to do this!

- On that note, I get SO excited for the 25 Days of Christmas countdown on ABC Family. It's a little ridiculous actually.

- Whenever there are presents under the tree that I know will have my name on them, I have to count to see how many I have.

- Depending on the year, we either spent Christmas Eve or Christmas Day evening opening presents with my mom's family. I always had the same spot to sit and open presents - right in front of the roaring fireplace! I still try to sit in that spot even though there are younger children who should sit there since it's usually reserved for whoever has the most gifts because there's the most space for them. Ooooops.

- I am humming or singing Christmas music from December 1st until December 25th. All day, every day.

- I adore Christmas lights. I could drive around and stare in awe at them for hours. And I have every intention of doing so the last weekend before Christmas!

- I love any sort of Christmas treats - the mini Hershey candy bars, the cookies with Rudolph and Santa on them, sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles. etc. Give me all the sweets!

- Even though I've usually already opened most of my presents on Christmas Eve now that I'm older, I still wake up really early on Christmas morning! I can't help it - I'm pretty sure we're all just hard wired to do it!

- I demand sausage balls for Christmas Eve or Day dinner (it changes depending on the year)! Mom always made these and it was the big task I could help with for dinner. Now, it's pretty much become my responsibility,  but last year, I made my dad do it while I oversaw his progress :)

Awww Christmas was my Grandmom's favorite too and she always went all out. I miss her even more profoundly this time of year :-( but we always try to celebrate to the fullest in remembrance.

This weekend, my husband turned the Christmas tree lights on first thing in the morning when he woke up! I was so proud of his Christmas spirit.
